DocScape’s positioning: Our standards

DocScape generates complex documents 100% automatically from data which may be located at almost any source. Based on a formalized description of the required design, the actual page design is automated by DocScape. It is our objective to fulfil these requirements, satisfying even the most sophisticated standards - no more and no less.

DocScape is not designed to manage data. The market already offers a wide range of different systems which fulfil this purpose: PIM systems which manage product data, MAM systems which manage images and other multimedia contents, ERP systems to store relevant product data which are frequently included in documents. It is DocScape’s philosophy to be able to integrate all these systems via interfaces without trying to replace them.

Naturally, we work with a number of reliable partners and can help you find an ideal solution for your individual requirements, or will be happy to act as a general contractor if preferred.

Specialization on automatic publishing

A number of systems is designed to generate output for pre-press - but generally this tends to be only one feature as part of a bigger system. DocScape, on the other hand, has specialized 100% in this task, solving it conclusively. Our rule-based approach helps us to achieve real 100% automation even for documents with a complex design. Professional text and table layouts in all languages worldwide are a matter of course for us, just like the processing of silhouetted images with complex shapes, and automatic design optimization.

100% automation

100% automation is our standard: It is becoming increasingly important to generate at short notice media which are suited to individual customer requirements. At the same time, it is no longer acceptable for our customers that each additional language requires extensive design activities. In a number of cases, such as the generation of personalized documents in combination with digital printing, manual postprocessing is basically impossible. These are the reasons why we have focused on a 100% automated process.

Rule-based approach

DocScape is designed to cope with templates, which can be imported from standard software (InDesign). However, templates are insufficient for the 100% automatic generation of complex documents: either a separate template must be produced for each special case - or manual postprocessing input is required. DocScape, on the other hand, relies uncompromisingly on a rule-based approach with options of expression which go beyond those of templates.

Partners

The generation of pre-press documents is essential in many cases, for example in product information management (PIM) systems, content management systems, or in the media asset management sector, to name but a few. With DocScape, we have solved this problem once and for all, investing all our energy in this task. As a result, we have come to rely increasingly on partners who integrate DocScape into their systems as a pre-press application, replacing proprietary developments.
